Tuesday Restoration Workdays at Donald County Park

We have an outstanding and dedicated group of Tuesday volunteers that meets each week from 8:30 am - 12:00 noon with a break mid-workday. No experience is necessary, we work in teams and have a good time. Join a dedicated group of volunteers on Tuesdays at Donald County Park to maintain and restore our park to its natural beauty!

Tasks Include:

• remove invasive plants from prairies
• clear trails of fallen branches and trees
• mow hiking trails and other areas.
• cut unwanted brush and trees as we open new areas (you must be certified in order to operate a chainsaw on DCP property)
• transport firewood to designated spots
• burn brush piles as directed
• assist Dane County Parks with seed collection, seed planting and prairie burns
• If you are mechanically inclined, there is a job for you as well maintaining our equipment.

How to Prepare:

• If it's your first time, please arrive at 8:15 am to check. You will need to sign a waiver.
• Bring water and dress for the weather and work plan.
• Tools and equipment are provided.
• Feel free to share treats for break time.
