Garden Workday at Lake Farm
Join us to help clean up and maintain the native pollinator garden growing up around the Master Park Sign at the Capital City Trail/Lower Yahara River Trail Trailhead! This area is across the street from the Lussier Family Heritage Center and W.G. Lunney Lake Farm County Park. We will be doing some light weeding, watering, and other gardening tasks as needed. This opportunity gives you the chance to get outdoors during the beautiful spring and summer season and learn about native WI plants, the benefits of native gardens, and our local pollinator species.
What to Wear:
- Closed-toed shoes are recommended.
- Dress for the weather and wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty and working in.
- A hat is recommended
What to Bring:
- We will have tools, gloves, and other materials for volunteers, but feel free to bring your own garden gloves and preferred hand tools.
- Drinking water (extra water if it's hot out)
- Sunscreen (and bug spray if bugs bother you)
Location
Capital City Trail Parking Lot - 3102 Lake Farm Road Madison, WI 53711
Meet by the Master Sign (off the bike path and Lake Farm Rd., near the pay kiosk and porta-potty)
