Yahara Pride Farms - Farmer Twilight Meeting

Join us for a Poker Run from 5:00 to 6:00 PM, featuring a self-guided tour through the neighborhood to explore different crop management practices and talk to the farmers who are implementing them. Participants will receive a playing card at each stop and have the opportunity to test their luck— the best poker hand will win a cash prize. Please stop by the farm shop to pick up a map and begin the event.

Twilight Meeting at the shop from 6:00 to 8:00 PM - dinner provided.

- Tour the Ziegler Farm Shop and get a close-up look at practical innovation.

- Jeff Margie from Zimmerman Manufacturing will demonstrate a manure applicator and lead a field demonstration.

- A representative from Insight FS will discuss soil compaction.

- Kim Meyer from Dane County LWRD will provide updates on Dane Demo Farms and share information about the 2024 Yahara Pride Farms Phosphorus Reduction Report.

The goal of these activities is to promote the adoption of conservation practices aimed at reducing phosphorus runoff within the Yahara Watershed.
