The Dane County Board will meet on Thursday night, in the first-ever hybrid meeting format. The meeting will begin at 7:00pm with members of the Board present in room 201 of the City-County Building, 210 MLK Jr. Blvd. with the option for members of the public to be present and participate in-person, virtually, or by phone.

The Board has been meeting primarily virtually for the last two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. County staff have been working on upgrading equipment and processes to allow for the hybrid format of meetings.

"We’ve seen participation in public meetings increase quite a bit over the last two years. I’m happy we’re able to continue to provide the virtual and phone option for people that find it more accessible, while also continuing the option for members of the public to come to the Board chambers for meetings as well," said County Board Chair Patrick Miles.

Members of the public wishing to provide public comment virtually or by phone still need to complete the registration form no later than 30 minutes prior to the meeting. Anyone attending in-person and would like to register to speak or register in support or opposition of an item is strongly encouraged to complete the registration form that is available on the top of the agenda 30 minutes in advance of the meeting, however paper registration forms will still be available.

"I’m eager to roll-out this process and I’m confident it will go well. Patience will be required as we evaluate and make improvements as we gain experience with this new meeting technology and process," said Chair Miles.
