MADISON – Dane County Executive Jamie Kuhn announced the hiring of Kevin Scheibler as Director of the Alliant Energy Center (AEC). “I am excited to welcome Director Scheibler to Dane County,” said Kuhn. “I look forward to his leadership as the AEC continues to host hundreds of thousands of visitors each year.”

Mr. Scheibler comes to the AEC with nearly 40 years’ experience in facilities management, most recently as the Executive Director of the Credit Union 1 Arena and UIC Dorin Forum in Chicago, Illinois. “I am grateful to County Executive Kuhn and the Dane County Board for trusting me to lead the AEC and our incredibly dedicated staff,” said Scheibler.  “The future is bright for the AEC and I am excited to be part of this community treasure.”

Scheibler has been in the public assembly management industry for over forty years. He was introduced to the field as a student usher at Illinois State University. He began his career in marketing and sales, including a stint from 1990-1994 as the Marketing Manager for the then named Dane County Expo Center. In 1996, as Director of Marketing and Sales, he was part of the team charged with opening the Van Andal Arena in Grand Rapids, MI. He then transitioned to top leadership roles including General Manager for the Kellogg Arena, in Battle Creek, MI from 1999 to 2013. He has served as Executive Director of the Credit Union 1 Arena and UIC Dorin Forum since 2013, both located on the University of Illinois Chicago campus in downtown Chicago.

“I look forward to bringing my customer service-oriented philosophy to AEC which creates a welcoming environment for our clients and guests,” said Scheibler. The Alliant Energy Center sits on 164 acres in downtown Madison encompassing the Veterans Memorial Coliseum, Exhibition Hall, Willow Island, the New Holland Pavilions and the Arena Building. “Director Scheibler will serve Dane County well as we move forward with planning the new era of the AEC campus,” said Kuhn.

The County Board approved Mr. Scheibler’s nomination on September 19, 2024. He began serving on September 23, 2024.
