Update on Fatal Crash in the Town of Verona

The Dane County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the horrific crash that killed five people the night of Friday, November 1st. The group was traveling in a red 2016 Model S Tesla and included, • 55-year-old male from Belleville, WI • 55-year-old female from Crandon, WI • 54-year-old male from Crandon, WI • 48-year-old female from Brooklyn Park, MN • 48-year-old male from Brooklyn Park, MN The Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Team responded to the scene, but the cause of the crash has not been determined. “It was a devastating weekend on Dane County roads,” said Sheriff Kalvin Barrett. “The Sheriff’s Office alone responded to two crashes that resulted in seven fatalities. Our hearts go out to the families and friends of the victims who are mourning the untimely loss of their loved ones. Please give driving your full attention to reduce crashes and make our roads safer.

Dane County Sheriff’s Office Detectives have completed the investigation into the November 1st crash that killed five people in the town of Verona. Detectives determined that multiple factors played a role. Road Conditions, excess speed, and impaired driving were all at play and contributed to the cause of the crash.
