The Dane County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with the WI Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to provide an ATV Safety Class in January 2025. The class is designed to equip riders of all ages and levels of experience with the knowledge and skills necessary to stay safe while enjoying the great outdoors. These classes aim to reduce accidents and promote responsible ATV use. The class will be held on January 25th (3-5 pm) and 26th (9 am-5 pm) at the WI DNR Service Center, 3911 Fish Hatchery Road in Fitchburg. The cost is $10 in cash, payable at registration on the first day of class. The certification is valid for ages 12 and up. "Whether you're a seasoned rider or new to ATVs, safety should always come first," said Sheriff Kalvin Barrett. "Our goal is to ensure everyone enjoys riding while minimizing risks." To register, go to https://gowild.wi.gov/home/signin. If you have questions regarding the class, please contact Deputy Cory Knapp at Knapp.Cory@danesheriff.com. Join us in promoting safe and responsible ATV use. Together, we can make outdoor adventures enjoyable and accident-free.
