One person has died, and one is hospitalized after a head-on crash in the town of Springfield. Dane County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the crash at 12:41 pm on Highway 19 at Barman Road.
A 55-year-old man was pronounced deceased at the scene, and a 51-year-old woman with serious injuries was transported to a local hospital by EMS. Roads were snow-covered and slippery when the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado, operated by the male, and the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, operated by the female, hit head-on.
Highway 19 between Lodi Springfield Road and Kuehn Road will be closed for several hours while deputies and the crash reconstruction team investigate the crash.
