Man Injured in Town of Blooming Grove Shooting

The Dane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a Madison man was shot in the town of Blooming Grove Sunday night.
The shooting occurred at 7:21 pm near the intersection of Gannon Avenue and Furey Avenue. The 24-year-old was driving south on Gannon Avenue when a sedan sped up behind him. As the victim began to turn right onto Furey Avenue, he was hit by gunfire and his vehicle crashed. 
The victim ran to a nearby home of an acquaintance, who called 911. EMS transported him to UW Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Sheriff’s deputies collected evidence from the scene of the shooting and spent time talking to residents and business owners in the area. Investigators are asking anyone who may have information or video evidence of vehicles traveling in the area of Gannon Avenue, Thurber Avenue, or N.
