On Friday, August 7th, at about 9:30 pm, Dane County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Edgerton Oasis in the town of Albion after a female clerk was punched in the head by a patron, Demetrius R. Glover, age 38, of Moorehead, MN. The victim was seriously injured and transported to a Madison hospital.
The suspect left before deputies could arrive. However, Lake Mills Police encountered him later that night. When they attempted to stop Glover, he fled, crashed his vehicle, and then ran from the scene. Glover was ultimately taken into custody in Lake Mills and booked into the Jefferson County Jail. Dane County detectives traveled to Jefferson County to interview the suspect regarding the events in the town of Albion.
In addition to his Jefferson County charges, Glover now faces Substantial Battery and Disorderly Conduct charges in Dane County. DCSO detectives continue to follow up on and monitor the victim's medical status.
