DANE COUNTY – Dane County Executive Melissa Agard today announced Robby Abrahamian as Dane County’s new lobbyist, bringing years of experience in state government, legislative policy and public service to the role. His appointment follows County Executive Agard naming Lacy Fox, the previous Dane County Lobbyist, to a senior leadership role within her administration.
Abrahamian’s appointment was approved by the Dane County Board, and he began serving in the role on September 21.
Abrahamian most recently served as Chief of Staff to State Senator Jodi Habush Sinykin. Prior to that role, he served as Policy Director for the Wisconsin State Senate Democrats, where he worked on a broad range of legislative and policy issues.
“Robby brings a strong understanding of state government, the legislative process and the issues that matter to communities across Dane County,” said County Executive Agard. “Having an effective voice at the State Capitol is incredibly important as we work to deliver essential services, invest in our communities and advocate for the resources and policies our growing county needs. I am excited to welcome Robby to our team.”
As Dane County Lobbyist, Abrahamian represents the County’s interests before the Wisconsin State Legislature and state agencies, working closely with the County Executive’s Office, County Board, elected officials and county departments. He will help advance Dane County’s legislative priorities, monitor state policy and budget developments, and strengthen relationships with state policymakers.
Abrahamian is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, where he studied water resources and political science. He later earned a Master of Public Affairs from the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s La Follette School of Public Affairs.
“Robby’s combination of legislative experience, policy expertise and understanding of environmental and natural resource issues will serve Dane County well,” Agard said. “I look forward to having him advocate on behalf of our residents and communities.”
