Dane County Executive Announces High Ranking County Appointment

          Carlos Pabellón Is Nominated for Department of Administration Director for Dane County

 

MADISON- Today, County Executive Joe Parisi announced Carlos Pabellón as his appointment for Dane County Department of Administration (DOA) Director. The Dane County DOA Director reports directly to the County Executive and manages all other Department heads. Since June 2015 Carlos has been serving as the interim Department of Administration Director. Before that Carlos served an Assistant Corporation Counsel focusing on environmental law and ordinance prosecutions.

Carlos has the right experience, is a proven problem solver and is well respected by his colleagues, employees and management.”

 

Under the direction of the County Executive, the DOA Director coordinates Countywide administrative services including finance, budget, payroll, personnel and employee relations, risk management, purchasing, information technology, facilities management, printing, and other general support services. This work includes planning, organizing, assigning and evaluating the work of the department. The DOA Director also coordinates interdepartmental initiatives on behalf of the County Executive, conducts and oversees policy analyses, strategic planning, and long range financial planning and works with elected officials to plan, implement, and evaluate programs. He also coordinates, performs, and oversees a variety of other special projects at the request of the County Executive.

 

The DOA Director is also responsible for overseeing the annual budgeting process. Dane County authorized $567,424,146 in expenditures while the capital budget authorized $40,478,400 for the 2016 Annual Budget.

 

Carlos has been a member of the Wisconsin State Bar Association since 2006. Before serving in roles at Dane County, Carlos was an Associate Attorney at Garvey, McNeil and McGillivray, S.C. Carlos obtained his B.A. at the University of Notre Dame and attended Law School at the University of Wisconsin Madison. Carlos is fluent in Spanish.

 

This appointment needs to be approved by the Dane County Board.
