Dane County Accepting Applications For Artist Residency in Germany

MADISON -- Dane County Executive Joe Parisi today announced that a Dane County artist will be one of only four artists from around the world to take up residency and show work as part of the Art-Project EUARCA (European Art Camp Wisconsin) 2017. The Dane County artist will be part of an international art workshop August 12-27 and includes artists from our sister/cooperation counties Forli-Cesena (Italy), Bistrita-Nasaud (Romania) and Gueret (France). All expenses will be paid through EUARCA .
“Dane County has incredibly talented artists and a vibrant arts culture,” said Dane County Executive Joe Parisi. “This is an opportunity to showcase Dane County’s talent to the world. I would encourage all artists to apply.”
The participant will be selected by the Commission following an application and peer review process.
Artwork should relate to the EUARCA theme. The 2017 EUARCA theme is “On The Run” this topic could be related to the refugees, to escapism, to the life in the fast lane or other possible meanings. The selected artist will stay in the Sensenstein in the County of Kassel, in Hesse, Germany (approximately 60 miles northeast of Frankfurt). Applications from individual artists living in Dane County are being accepted now, and are due February 20, 2017, 4 P.M.
